Didn't have enough space to reveal this in my previous post, sorry.
The Switch 2 officially releases worldwide on June 5th 2025. For the console without Mario Kart World bundled in, it will cost US$449.99 / €469.99 / £395.99 / ¥49980 (restricted Japan only model¹) / ¥69980 (unrestricted model¹).
We don't have enough evidence of this yet, but it looks like games will have a price increase by roughly £15-25 on Switch 2 (for context, most Switch games² cost around £50). It also looks like prices will be slightly discounted if you buy it digitally.
Referring to Mario Kart World since it's probably a full priced game, it costs £74.99 for physical and £66.99 for digital. For Donkey Kong Bananza, it costs £66.99 for physical and £58.99 for digital.
Pre-orders open at different times depending on region. For the UK, it'll be open on the 8th of April on an invite only basis for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers who have held a subscription for 2 years or more, has spent a certain amount of time playing Switch games, shares usage data with Nintendo and receives promotional emails from Nintendo. See more information at https://store.nintendo.co.uk/en/nintendo-switch-2.
¹ Likely due to the weak Yen, there's two different models of Switch 2 in Japan. The restricted Japan only model (~£260 / ¥49980) will only allow Japanese Nintendo Accounts and will only support the Japanese language to prevent resellers. The unrestricted model (~£360 / ¥69880) will allow all region Nintendo Accounts and will support all languages.
² Only major exceptions are Smash Ultimate, Tears of the Kingdom and Breath of the Wild afaik which are priced at £60 instead.

I can't help but feel incredibly annoyed at the price rise. I was having a conversation with a friend earlier and the Steam Deck is literally cheaper (£350 for 256GB) than the Switch 2 now.
I'm not sure how a £396 price tag is going to go for Nintendo (probably fine to be fair) with the Steam Deck being cheaper and having access to a 20+ year library of games as well as lots of customisability. I imagine the Switch 2 has better performance (I'm not sure what the Steam Deck is like) though.
I'm also unhappy with the price rise for games honestly. Yes, it's in line with everyone else and yes, video games used to be expensive. But it's just frustrating when you consider that 15 years ago, Wii titles were about £35 to my knowledge and now the price has more than doubled.
@vn yeah, I understand the situation is just much different at the moment with the impending tariffs of doom and a global recession but I can't help thinking that it's a quite dramatic shift. Wii U and Switch were both mostly £50, but £75 just sucks.
I also kind of forgot that Gold Points got removed on the 25th of March, certainly adds to the frustration (I basically just have like £1 in Gold Points but I imagine anyone who's frequently buying digital titles has a lot more) too.
The price rise is a big reason why I'm tempted just to not buy Switch 2 at launch. I think I definitely want to put out some polls over the coming days to gauge what people actually think about the price rise etc, but I think this is just Nintendo following in line with Sony and Microsoft.
It seems like £75 is going to be the standard price for Switch 2 titles, just been looking at US prices for the upgraded versions of Tears of the Kingdom, Kirby and the Forgotten Land and Super Mario Party Jamboree and they're $80 (BotW is $70).
Edit: I think $80 roughly works out as £66 looking at other prices and I'd expect enhanced Switch 1 titles to be slightly cheaper than Switch 2 exclusive games. We need more evidence honestly to prove it's the standard price (given that the Donkey Kong game isn't at full price) but it's certainly looking like it.
