i know that if you want a windows / linux dual boot on the same drive, you should install windows first, because it insists on formatting the whole drive. but does the order matter if you plan to have windows and linux on different drives? if i point the installer at one drive, will it just leave the others alone?

i know i could install in a different order, or just unplug the drives. i will if i have to, but not doing that would be more convenient.
