my current biggest gripe with a lot of the indie web is that they're recreating the reasons facebook succeeded over myspace, namely: the freedom to make whatever means that people have been putting creativity over accessibility & readability. luckily things aren't quite as bad as they used to be & the bubble is unlikely to crash again, but it's definitely something I notice

Federation

Interactions with other fediverse instances are dictated through the terms of service of those instances. Unless they don't. I don't know how that works.

Blocklist

This instance uses the Tier 0 blocklist provided by Oliphant.social as provided on 2024-12-02. The reason for the blocklist is because, like, okay, listen, I don't want to have to figure out the legal culpability of hosting things I don't want to host, and I don't know how to turn off the media proxy. If you think you're being unfairly blocked by my instance, you're not missing much.
