@mynotaurus also, sapience means peoples' brains are totally different from each other, so it's hard to say what exactly you'd need to feel the kind of lasting contentment that people generally achieve. it could also be the depression who's to say

@mynotaurus that's contentment and/or satiation, that's different and easier to achieve than prolonged happiness. there's a reason the US declaration of independence declares the right to the pursuit of happiness and not happiness itself (I know you're not in the US but I think the wisdom of the words still applies). also I don't think that's necessarily true, many people are just practiced at hiding it for various objectively silly reasons

my current biggest gripe with a lot of the indie web is that they're recreating the reasons facebook succeeded over myspace, namely: the freedom to make whatever means that people have been putting creativity over accessibility & readability. luckily things aren't quite as bad as they used to be & the bubble is unlikely to crash again, but it's definitely something I notice
